Geodata for Smart City Cottbus
Aerial Photography and Airborne Laserscanning for the municipality Cottbus in Germany
As a smart city, Cottbus aims to promote sustainability, innovation and the creation of new jobs. New technological possibilities are intended to offer concrete benefits to citizens, local businesses and other interest groups, while at the same time increasing citizen participation and thus public engagement.
To this end, Eviden and its partners have developed a digital twin of the city of Cottbus, which comprises several specialist portals and uses GIS data, cadastral data and open data, among other things, to create analyses.
As part of the Smart City pilot project, BSF Swissphoto took over the data acquistion of high-resolution vertical and oblique aerial images as well as Lidar data acquisition for the city of Cottbus. The Aerial Photography was carried out twice in 2023 and 2024, the Airborne Laserscanning took place in 2023.
